Vannes · 3 rue Jean Bouin, 56000 Vannes
In a spacious 150-square-meter home where 4–5 people live, four private rooms and the common areas are available for rent, forming the living community known as “Lighthouse Coliving, Vannes.” Why is it called “The Lighthouse”? Located in a city on the shores of the Gulf of Morbihan, it’s only natural that Vannes looks out to the sea like a lighthouse. With no buildings directly across from it and no structures in front or behind, the house is bathed in sunlight, which is even more intense on the first and second floors, where the coliving space is located. “The Lighthouse” literally means “house of light,” and its mission is to illuminate the lives of its residents, just as the positive energy of the coliving community will be reflected in the peaceful atmosphere of the space. Who is it for? The Lighthouse is designed for digital nomads, young professionals, employees undergoing corporate training, nurses on assignment, expats, explorers, or those pursuing higher education, among others. You share the same roof for a time, but the spirit you bring will endure. You’ll have the opportunity to define the purpose of this community by choosing a shared vision based, for example, on well-being through fitness, ecology, or any other concept you envision. The owners of The Lighthouse will follow your lead and support your efforts. Follow this link to start your application to become a member of this community: https://forms.gle/kMdgpm97h4gCJp2S6 FAQ Q) How does coliving differ from other types of housing? A) This co-living space offers several advantages over other housing options: Studio apartments contribute to people’s sense of isolation, whereas co-living has the opposite effect. The supply of studio apartments has halved over the past three years, so these scarce properties are exorbitantly priced, with rent per square meter per month far higher than in co-living. Rooms in private homes feel too much like living with your parents, with more restrictions and without the emotional support. Of course, coliving has nothing to do with unsanitary, overcrowded, and poorly managed CROUS student housing. Coliving offers true independence in a “home” surrounded by people like you whom you’d love to spend time with. Q) How does coliving differ from the typical roommate situation? A) Coliving is not the same as a ‘colocation,’ where everyone is responsible for the other roommates’ debts (which you have to settle yourself or face an increase in your rent share), where you have to handle everything on your own to set up utility contracts, and do the housework that’s never evenly split, in a furnished space often filled with unattractive and uncomfortable odds and ends, and where you’re tied to a lease you didn’t choose, lasting at least one year (legal obligation). Q) Can I use government subsidies to help pay the rent? A) Yes, coliving is eligible for ALS subsidies for non-subsidized housing, but it is not eligible for APL because it is not a primary residence. Leases are flexible and available for terms ranging from 1 to 9 months. Stays conclude at the end of May each year and renew at the beginning of September if you wish to return. Q) I prefer to live alone or as a couple without sharing spaces. Do you have a solution for my situation? A) The Lighthouse coliving on the 1st and 2nd floors is not suitable for couples or people who prefer a private apartment. However, we could potentially consider the studio on the ground floor as an option. It is usually rented out year-round as a seasonal rental and occasionally serves as a temporary stay for the owners when they come to make improvements or repairs. It is a 25m² turnkey apartment with a bedroom, shower/toilet, and kitchen. In the bedroom, there is a 160x200 cm queen-size bed with a 125-liter (1.25 m³) storage compartment underneath. The headboard features small storage shelves, four outlets for plugging in your devices, and a nightstand. A 140 cm wide wardrobe/walk-in closet, an 80 x 50 cm desk, and an ergonomic chair. TV, a Google Stick connected to every streaming service imaginable, and a Wi-Fi repeater for fast access. Request a quote at info@thesunkey.com
