About Costa Rica Artist Colony

Our goal at Costa Rica Artist Colony is to give creatives a shortcut to an easy, inspiring life in Costa Rica. You'll be welcomed by new friends, the art world, and arts housing with all the hard stuff already figured out for you. We are a small, host-led arts community in the mountains of Atenas housing up to 6 creatives at a time in 2 houses. Whether you're painting, writing, composing music, or photographing wildlife, you'll find inspiration here. We welcome beginners and pros alike, and we have deep ties to the local arts world. You'll enjoy new friendships, weekly arts gatherings, a freestanding studio, a solar-heated pool, mountain views, and 14 acres of private trails. We also connect guests to the top local guide and provide a welcome magazine listing all the best resources and attractions. We are actively reforesting the property since the area used to be a coffee farm. You'll see capuchin monkeys, toucans, agoutis, parrots, coatis, and other Costa Rican wildlife on the grounds, sometimes even right out your window.
