Travelers between 1 week and 3 months, including remote workers exploring a city, professionals on temporary assignments, and people in between long-term homes. Diversity is high — mix of nationalities, age ranges, and reasons for being there. Most residents are friendly but don't deeply invest in the community because they're moving on.
Flexible lease terms (often week-to-week), more turnover in shared spaces than long-stay coliving, and lighter community programming. Operators typically don't run extensive social calendars because the resident roster changes too frequently. Internet, utilities, cleaning, and basic kitchen access are included.
Choose short-term-stay coliving over a hotel or Airbnb when you want the social baseline of common areas + other travelers without committing to a long lease. Best for 4-12 week stays where Airbnb gets expensive and hotels feel isolating. Trade-off vs. long-stay coliving: weaker community depth, but maximum flexibility.
