Vietnam is one of the world's most affordable coliving destinations. Ho Chi Minh City coliving starts from $350–600/mo all-inclusive. Hanoi is similar at $300–550/mo. Da Nang offers beach coliving from $350–650/mo. Hoi An is emerging at $300–500/mo. All prices typically include a furnished room, utilities, Wi-Fi, and shared amenities.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is Vietnam's largest and most cosmopolitan coliving hub with the most operators and coworking spaces. Hanoi is the cultural capital with a charming old quarter and growing nomad scene. Da Nang is fast-rising as a beach-city coliving destination with excellent infrastructure and a welcoming expat community. Hoi An is a quieter, more romantic alternative.
Most nationalities receive 45-day visa-free entry to Vietnam (as of 2023). E-visas are available for 90-day single-entry or multiple-entry stays. Longer-term options include the Business Visa (DN) extendable to 1 year, or combining back-to-back e-visas. Vietnam does not yet have a dedicated digital nomad visa, but the e-visa system is straightforward.
Vietnam is excellent for remote workers. Internet speeds in major cities are fast, café culture is strong (most cafés have Wi-Fi and power outlets), and the cost savings are dramatic compared to Western cities. The food is incredible and affordable, people are friendly and welcoming, and the country's growing tech scene means more coworking spaces and startup events than ever.
